Mindfulness Training
I believe that the best results are achieved when clients are provided with a combination of useable tools for change and mindfulness approaches for shifting their relationship to the stories and automatic thoughts and behaviors that make their lives challenging.
Training in and practicing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) has been personally transformative. It has helped me realize how much time is spent thinking about the past and worrying about the future. It was eye opening to realize the amount of tension carried in the body, and how so much suffering can be alleviated by changing the way we relate to it. This led me to begin sharing mindful awareness practices with others. My understanding of mind body integration is further deepened by more than 15 years studying, training, and practicing yoga.
